Head of Product Design

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish TRM's product design team as a dynamic and influential force, both within the company and throughout the industry.

• Ensure the impact of design is evident across the organization on a daily basis, not limited to launch events.

• Attract, recruit, and nurture top-tier design talent, focusing on the individual growth of each designer alongside team performance.

• Define and oversee team priorities, effectively coordinating resources across the product portfolio.

• Serve as a thought leader in agentic design, influencing both internal and external discussions.

• Recognize exceptional design talent before it appears on a resume, understanding that experience in Figma isn't the only indicator of skill.

• Prioritize conflicting projects and advocate for those priorities, even in the face of stakeholder challenges.

• Engage directly in design processes rather than simply overseeing from the sidelines, integrating AI tools as enhancements rather than replacements.

• Ensure that Sales, Engineering, and the executive team understand the daily contributions of design, beyond just the launch phase.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience as a practicing product designer, with a minimum of 3 years in a management role overseeing a design team.

• Proven track record of building or enhancing a successful product design team within a B2B SaaS environment, focusing on hiring, developing, and retaining designers rather than merely keeping an existing roster.

• Familiarity with using AI tools as integral components of a practical workflow (such as prototyping, critique, or production) and the ability to demonstrate this capability.

• Experience in designing product interfaces where AI or automation performs significant functions on behalf of the user, or possess a clear perspective on how this design challenge differs from conventional UI design.
