This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Lead the Product, Design, and Product Marketing teams as a unified entity, overseeing eight direct reports: three Product Managers, two designers, and three product marketers. You will be responsible for their deliverables, the shipping process, and ensuring high adoption rates alongside a strong NPS.

• Develop the operating system. Set up the planning cycle (annual → quarterly → sprint), establish discovery rituals, create a launch process, and determine the key metrics. We are transitioning from a scrappy approach to a more rigorous shipping process — your role is to facilitate this shift while maintaining our innovative spirit.

• Define Hive’s AI product interface. Take charge of how AI is integrated throughout the product — from autonomous campaign creation and audience segmentation to copilot-style assistants that enable a solo marketer to function like a full team. Help identify strategic opportunities and determine which initiatives to prioritize or forgo, as well as how AI can transform the capabilities of event marketers.

• Optimize the productivity cycle. Streamline the journey from concept to released product to insights gained. Enhance team performance by minimizing obstacles, sharpening focus, and elevating the expectations for what a single PM, designer, or PMM can manage from start to finish.

• Have strong opinions on organizational design. Advocate for effective structuring of Product, Design, PMM, and Engineering to facilitate rapid progress. Collaborate closely with the CTO and VP of Engineering to ensure optimal placement of talent and to redefine the R&D organization before it becomes a hindrance.

• Maintain a close connection with customers. Participate in customer calls, accompany onboarding sessions, and review every NPS comment. Ensure that every PM, designer, and PMM engages similarly. Event marketers are a discerning and vocal audience — our success hinges on our deep understanding of them.

• Recruit and mentor builders instead of project managers. The PMs and designers we seek are those who draft specifications, design workflows, prototype, and deliver results — not merely manage task boards. You will exemplify this behavior and elevate the team's standards for craftsmanship.

• Operate Product Marketing as an equal function. PMMs should not merely serve as a launch support team; they must own aspects like positioning, competitive analysis, pricing feedback, and launch results. You will integrate PMM into the product development process from the outset, rather than waiting until the week before general availability.

• Collaborate with the CTO, engineering leadership, and the founders. The CTO defines the long-term vision; your responsibility is to translate it into tangible products, measurable results, and a team that enjoys working together.

⛳️ Requirements

• A builder who leads builders. You have firsthand experience writing PRDs, assessing trade-offs, and delivering products that resonate with customers — and you’ve guided others in doing the same. You understand the distinction between a PM who merely manages a backlog and one who actively shapes a product, and you can identify the right candidate within thirty minutes.

• Proficient in AI and utilizing it daily. You harness AI for drafting, synthesizing, prototyping, summarizing research, and challenging ideas, and you expect your team to do likewise. You have a vision for AI's role within the product, workflow, and organization, and you are actively influencing all three aspects.

• Strong operational capabilities. You can create a roadmapping process, a launch checklist, a discovery cadence, and an OKR cycle from the ground up — having done so previously in a 50–250 person SaaS environment. You know which practices yield valuable insights and which are merely performative.

• Innately customer-focused. You thrive when engaging with users. You can recall genuine customer feedback from memory. You ensure that each product decision is anchored in a specific user and their needs.

• A catalyst for design and PMM. You have collaborated closely with designers and product marketers as equals, not subordinates. You understand how to empower a small team to exceed expectations by granting true ownership to each discipline.

• Passionate about the art of Product Management. While leadership is important, your true passion lies in the craft. You find joy in a well-structured PRD, a clear user narrative, a well-defined issue, and a creative experiment. You continually seek to improve processes and remain aware of the best practices employed by leading product teams worldwide.

• Principled in your approach. You do not permit the team to begin building until everyone can articulate “why are we doing this?” Strategy, hypotheses, customer focuses, and success metrics come first. You can assertively, yet kindly, push back when work commences without a clear rationale.

• Adaptable to a straightforward, mid-stage SaaS environment. We are neither in the pre-product-market fit stage nor post-IPO. We engage with real customers, generate actual revenue, face genuine competition, and make significant decisions weekly. You act swiftly, communicate clearly, and do not require extensive presentations to make informed decisions.

🏝️ Benefits

• Competitive salary and equity: your compensation reflects your impact.

• Fully remote work in Canada or the US: work from wherever you are most productive, whether it be your home or elsewhere. We just require that you have legal work authorization in the country where you reside and work. Unfortunately, we cannot hire within Quebec at this time.

• Flexible working hours: select your own schedule as long as it does not disrupt your role, team, or Hive.

• Health + Insurance: Comprehensive health and dental coverage, including a parental leave top-up program.

• Live Experience stipend: a financial allowance to attend live events — whether concerts, festivals, sports events, or anything else that inspires and energizes you.

• Unlimited vacation/PTO policy: to ensure you maintain your happiness and health!
