Head of Power System Studies

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Build, guide, and nurture a highly competent and efficient technical team, promoting collaboration and excellence.

• Take charge of sales initiatives by collaborating with existing clients on new projects and exploring opportunities with prospective clients.

• Actively manage and cultivate relationships with U.S. clients to enhance revenue streams.

• Supervise the technical, financial, and operational performance of the team to guarantee consistent results delivery.

• Offer technical coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for junior staff members.

• Prepare proposals and lead contract negotiations to secure new project opportunities.

• Manage and support a team of engineers in executing projects of varying complexity and risk levels.

• Provide specialized training courses to clients to improve their understanding of power system studies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.

• A minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in power system modeling and studies.

• Proven track record in engaging clients and driving business growth.

• Demonstrated experience leading project teams to successfully deliver complex power system study projects for both national and international clients.

• Familiarity with ERCOT and/or MISO interconnection and system planning study procedures.

• Advanced knowledge in areas such as contingency analysis, voltage stability, small signal stability, transient stability, and control system tuning in both frequency and time domains.

• Proficient in power system modeling techniques and algorithms, with experience in generator and renewable model development or validation (RMS & EMT) based on field testing.

• Expertise in simulation and analysis tools including DSATools, PSS/E, and PSCAD.

• Experience conducting NERC and regional utility reliability compliance studies.
