This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee Stedi's strategy for interoperability and related policies.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to establish the policy playbook, prioritize initiatives, and define pathways for adoption.
• Develop Stedi’s government affairs program and frameworks for stakeholder engagement.
• Lead involvement in X12, WEDI, CAQH CORE, HL7, and other relevant work groups and committees.
• Present proposals and cultivate relationships to generate momentum within standards organizations.
• Conduct regulatory advocacy with CMS, HHS, and other federal and state agencies.
• Draft comment letters, responses to RFIs, technical proposals, and precise regulatory language.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to convert clearinghouse inefficiencies into interoperability proposals.
• Foster support among providers, health technology companies, payers, and trade associations.
• Keep leadership informed on regulatory developments concerning HIPAA administrative simplification, X12 version migrations, interoperability, and prior authorization rulemaking.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in health policy, regulatory affairs, or standards-related work.
• Background at CMS or HHS, experience on Capitol Hill, within a standards or operating rules organization, or as part of the policy team for a payer, provider system, health tech company, or trade association.
• Strong working knowledge of HIPAA Administrative Simplification, X12 transaction sets, CAQH CORE operating rules, and federal rulemaking is highly preferred.
• Significant regulatory experience in another technically complex industry may also be considered.
• Established credibility and a robust network within the healthcare policy or interoperability field.
• Proven success in driving tangible outcomes, such as the adoption of a provision, operating rule, or standard modification.
• Excellent writing abilities for comment letters, proposals, and regulatory language.
• Capability to comprehend API responses and EDI segments and their significance.
• Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
• Must reside in the USA.
