This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Serve as the strategic HR partner to the executive team, focusing on organizational design, leadership development, succession planning, and critical personnel decisions across the organization.
• Create and implement scalable people programs, including career frameworks, performance management, compensation structures, and onboarding processes that follow a documented schedule rather than relying on exceptional efforts.
• Build and manage the People team, taking responsibility for recruitment, team structure, and development as we grow through Series C.
• Take ownership of and enhance the Lumos manager experience by developing and executing consistent training programs that empower every Lumos manager to become a people developer from the moment they post their first requisition.
• Cultivate and maintain the Lumos culture during our expansion, ensuring we preserve what makes Lumos unique while establishing the foundation for future growth.
• Over 8 years of experience in People/HR, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership position overseeing a specific function or a significant program.
• Experience scaling a People function through the transition from 100 to over 250 employees at a rapidly growing SaaS or tech company, with firsthand knowledge of the challenges that arise at the 150-employee mark and how to address them.
• A builder rather than an inheritor: successfully launched new manager development, performance, compensation, and onboarding programs from the ground up, with tangible outputs to demonstrate your work.
• A manager-centric philosophy: a strong belief that excellent people functions are developed through effective managers, supported by evidence of past successes.
• A trusted strategic ally to senior leadership, comfortable engaging in high-stakes discussions with CEOs and founders; discreet, decisive, and able to provide an external perspective.
• A commitment to operational excellence: manage the function through documented, repeatable processes rather than ad hoc solutions.
• Preferred qualifications: experience with HiBob (or a similar modern HRIS), coaching credentials or background, and international/EOR experience (Deel, Remote, etc.).
• Remote-first culture – Work from anywhere within ±4 hours of Pacific Time.
• Medical, dental & vision insurance – 100% of premiums covered for employees, 60% for dependents. HSA and FSA available with employer contribution. International benefits align with local standards.
• Mental health support – Access to mental health resources and support.
• Monthly wellness stipend – A monthly stipend for gym memberships, fitness apps, and anything that helps you recharge.
• Life & disability insurance – Life insurance, short-term disability, and long-term disability coverage available.
• Flexible PTO – Flexible time off with a minimum annual requirement, recognizing that rest is essential for optimal performance.
• Parental leave – Up to 16 weeks of paid parental leave for expecting parents.
• $1,000 annual learning stipend – An annual budget for courses, books, conferences, and certifications.
• Company & team offsites – Company and team bonding trips throughout the year, fully funded by Lumos.
• 401(k) with matching – Employer 401(k) matching to assist you in saving for your future.
