This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
• Accountable for the creation and supervision of a Lean Manufacturing System across all production locations, utilizing Six Sigma methodologies to enhance plant performance.
• Design plant layouts to optimize throughput and increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Identify, define, and implement synergies in manufacturing processes, automation, technology, and logistics across various sites.
• Manage cross-leveling and capacity balancing while addressing bottleneck challenges throughout the manufacturing workflows.
• Oversee multi-site projects and product distribution.
• Analyze and resolve production challenges, providing assistance to managers in problem-solving.
• Develop operational plans and strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
• Prepare and present performance reports to executive management.
• Ensure that operations comply with the Sandvik Code of Conduct.
• Continuously enhance safety records by addressing both physical safety concerns and employee safety mindsets.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• At least 5 years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in cutting tool manufacturing.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing role.
• Comprehensive understanding of all manufacturing methods, technologies, automation, and equipment.
• Strong expertise in process management and improvement within a manufacturing context.
• Capability to operate in an ambiguous environment, assisting in identifying, simplifying, and structuring processes.
• Excellent relationship-building abilities and effective communication skills.
• Experience in managing multi-site projects and reporting.
• Proficient in managing multiple tasks and priorities while adapting to changing circumstances.
• Strong knowledge of Lean methodologies and Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
• An MBA in finance would be advantageous.
