Head of Open Source Ecosystem

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the Foundation’s strategy for community and ecosystem development in the realm of open-source AI.

• Advocate for open-source AI through effective writing and storytelling.

• Assist in driving Sentient's program for grants and investments in open-source AI.

• Lead and expand the developer community on platforms such as Discord, GitHub, and X.

• Recruit and gather leaders from the ecosystem.

• Represent Sentient at hackathons, conferences, and in online spaces.

• Collaborate with product, research, and growth teams to highlight developer success stories.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in developer relations, community management, or ecosystem roles, preferably in open-source AI/ML, data, or infrastructure.

• Strong technical skills with the ability to read and write code (Python and/or TypeScript).

• Over 4 years of experience in building open-source software, paired with a robust personal network within the open-source AI developer community.

• Proven ability to recruit and assemble senior professionals (founders, advisors, council members, or thought leaders) around a shared mission.

• Familiarity with LLMs, AI agents, and agent frameworks, along with the capability to convey complex technical concepts clearly through writing, demonstrations, and presentations.

• A public portfolio showcasing developer content, such as tutorials, presentations, demos, OSS contributions, or community engagement.

• Comfort with, or genuine interest in, Web3 / token incentive models and on-chain interoperability.

• High level of user empathy, excellent written communication skills, and a strong inclination towards execution.
