This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of the SMB methodology strategy encompassing formation, banking, accounting, payroll, payments, communications, HR, lending, and business operations software.
• Develop comprehensive and defensible evaluation frameworks that align with SMB user requirements, market conditions, and update frequency.
• Create proprietary SMB metrics and structured datasets for rankings, editorial purposes, and potential data product development.
• Specify research and data collection needs; collaborate with testing, data, and research teams to ensure the integrity of the evidence.
• Set quality benchmarks for SMB methodologies, scoring models, documentation, and analyst contributions.
• Guide analysts and act as the internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) on SMB market dynamics, methodology development, and data integrity.
• Collaborate with editorial, SEO, product, commercial, testing, and data teams to convert methodology into reliable rankings and scalable data products.
• Over 5 years of experience in SMB products, services, SaaS, fintech, operations, consulting, analytics, product management, or related fields.
• Profound understanding of how small businesses assess, acquire, and utilize products or services to initiate, operate, and expand.
• Proven experience in creating or supervising analytical frameworks, rating systems, benchmarking programs, structured evaluations, or data products.
• Exceptional ability to clarify complex business, financial, operational, or technical concepts for non-expert audiences.
• Demonstrated capability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and steer initiatives across editorial, product, commercial, analytics, research, or testing teams.
• Experience within a review site, marketplace, ratings organization, fintech, SaaS provider, business services company, or SMB data provider (preferred).
• Knowledge of model governance, validation, quality assurance, or audit processes for scoring/rating systems (preferred).
• Familiarity with proprietary datasets, scoring engines, commercial data products, or extensive comparative product evaluations (preferred).
