Head of Legal – Interim

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Deliver strategic legal guidance on significant company projects

• Supervise and lead the legal team

• Provide advice on regulatory matters, entity structuring, incentive arrangements, and employee contracts for new products and potential spin-offs

• Serve as a trusted legal advisor to senior management and key executives

• Oversee legal aspects related to treasury operations, including trading documentation and derivatives contracts

• Negotiate legal issues pertaining to traditional finance

• Offer daily legal counsel across corporate, commercial/IP, employment, and operational matters

• Assist Product, Growth, and Operations teams with legal and compliance integration

• Maintain and refine legal policies, controls, and governance practices

• Represent the Legal department at Board meetings as necessary

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in a General Counsel or senior legal leadership role

• Strong background in Web3/crypto and traditional finance (TradFi) legal matters

• Proficiency in regulatory, employment, product, financial, and commercial/IP law

• Experience in managing or supervising a legal team, particularly during periods of change or rapid growth

• Knowledge in corporate structuring, including entity formation or spin-offs

• Comfortable representing the Legal department at the Board level and engaging with senior executives and stakeholders

• Capable of working independently in a remote, globally distributed setting

• Adequate working hours overlap to collaborate with a European-based team

• Available for immediate start

• Willing to facilitate a structured handover at the beginning and conclusion of the engagement
