
Head of Legal – General Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Develop and enhance InkuPlay’s internal legal department.
• Provide legal and strategic counsel to executive management.
• Draft, evaluate, and negotiate agreements with customers, partners, suppliers, and other commercial entities.
• Create and standardize contract templates, clause libraries, and legal playbooks.
• Establish effective processes for contract review and approval.
• Offer guidance on data protection and privacy issues related to products, especially concerning GDPR, digital products, and emerging technologies.
• Provide legal support for new products, features, business models, and partnerships.
• Manage responsibilities related to intellectual property, copyright, trademarks, and content.
• Assist the People team with employment law matters, employment contracts, and freelancer agreements.
• Address corporate law and governance issues.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive internal policies, including those for data protection, compliance, AI usage, and information security.
• Identify and prioritize significant legal risks.
• Oversee and coordinate external law firms and specialized advisors.
• Create a transparent legal and contract management system that tracks deadlines, obligations, and relevant risks.
• Qualified lawyer (e.g., German Volljurist) or an equivalent legal qualification.
• Several years of relevant professional experience, preferably in both a law firm and in-house setting.
• Experience in roles such as Legal Counsel, Senior Legal Counsel, Head of Legal, or similar positions.
• Strong expertise in general commercial and contract law.
• Proficient in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Good understanding of data protection law and preferably experience with digital products, software, platforms, or technology-driven business models.
• Experience in IP, media, marketing, or antitrust/competition law is a plus.
• Solid grasp of employment and corporate law issues.
• Experience in creating legal processes, templates, or contract playbooks is particularly welcome.
• Ability to evaluate legal risks from a business standpoint and provide clear recommendations.
• High level of autonomy and a pragmatic working style.
• Excellent written and spoken proficiency in both German and English.
