This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +4 more states.
• Serve as the initial point of contact for legal inquiries from Product, Sales, Customer Success, Finance, and other departments, assessing issues and engaging outside counsel as necessary.
• Manage the entire contract lifecycle for the organization, including drafting, redlining, and negotiating commercial, partner, and vendor contracts.
• Review both incoming and outgoing agreements, identify risks, and ensure alignment with company policies and positions.
• Oversee the board process from start to finish, including preparation for meetings, drafting resolutions, consents, and minutes.
• Act as Corporate Secretary.
• Supervise lobbying registrations, disclosures, and compliance responsibilities across the various states and jurisdictions where Teak operates.
• Develop scalable legal processes, templates, and playbooks that meet business needs and encourage team collaboration.
• Function as the main legal contact and provide guidance to leadership on corporate governance matters.
• Collaborate with key outside legal counsel.
• 5–15 years of comprehensive legal experience, either in-house or at a law firm.
• Proven history of progressively taking ownership of commercial and corporate legal matters.
• Exceptional skills in contract drafting, review, and negotiation pertaining to commercial, partnership, and vendor agreements.
• Proficient in addressing a wide variety of internal legal questions and determining when to escalate issues to outside counsel.
• Strong sense of ownership and resourcefulness.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
• Active bar license in good standing.
• Willingness to travel to Teak Hubs located in Phoenix, San Francisco, Denver, Los Angeles, Austin, or Chicago as necessary.
