This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
β’ Direct intricate M&A activities throughout the Western region, overseeing transactions from due diligence and deal structuring to negotiation and post-acquisition integration.
β’ Facilitate strategic investments, partnerships, and joint ventures while negotiating substantial commercial agreements and enterprise contracts.
β’ Collaborate with Finance and executive leadership on matters of corporate governance and strategic business initiatives.
β’ Offer commercially oriented legal advice that fosters business growth while effectively managing legal, regulatory, and operational risks.
β’ Create and refine legal governance frameworks, policies, and processes that support a growing international business.
β’ Keep abreast of legal and regulatory changes across the Western region and advise leadership on their potential business implications.
β’ Oversee litigation and dispute resolution in the Western region, managing external counsel to achieve practical and commercially viable outcomes.
β’ Supervise intellectual property issues, providing counsel on patents, trademarks, licensing, and IP considerations related to commercial transactions and product development.
β’ Act as the primary legal liaison between the Western business and APAC teams, supporting cross-border transactions and ensuring legal consistency across regions.
β’ Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, collaborating with Finance, Sales, Product, and People teams to offer practical, business-oriented legal guidance.
β’ Identify opportunities to enhance legal operations, optimize processes, and contribute to the evolution of PatSnap's Western legal function.
β’ Over 10 years of combined legal experience, with substantial time spent in-house at a high-growth technology or SaaS company.
β’ Demonstrated experience in leading or playing a pivotal role in M&A transactions β from due diligence to closure.
β’ Strong foundation in corporate law, commercial transactions, and legal risk management.
β’ Proven ability to manage litigation and disputes, including experience in engaging and directing external counsel in a cost-effective manner.
β’ Qualified solicitor; adept at navigating multi-jurisdictional legal environments.
β’ Commercially savvy with the capability to balance legal risks with business practicality and budget considerations.
β’ Exceptional negotiation skills and a history of achieving favorable outcomes on complex agreements.
β’ Strong communicator β capable of simplifying complex legal issues into clear, concise guidance for non-legal stakeholders.
β’ Nice to Have: Proficiency in Mandarin and/or experience collaborating closely with Chinese or broader APAC business teams β highly beneficial given the cross-regional nature of this role.
β’ Nice to Have: Background in IP law, data privacy (GDPR, PIPEDA, CCPA), or regulatory compliance within a SaaS/technology context.
β’ Nice to Have: Experience with cross-border transactions linking Western and Asian markets.
β’ Nice to Have: Previous work with investment firms, private equity, or venture-backed companies.
β’ Nice to Have: Familiarity with corporate law in the UK, US, and Canada.
