Head of Impact – Sustainability

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Formulate and execute a quantifiable ESG strategy that incorporates environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and governance excellence within the company's operations.

• Create and oversee Cohere's philanthropic foundation, defining strategic giving priorities and establishing partnerships.

• Direct philanthropic initiatives, foster research collaborations, and engage with academic institutions.

• Design and expand employee giving and volunteer initiatives.

• Establish measurable impact frameworks and key performance indicators (KPIs) for ESG effectiveness, philanthropic achievements, and employee involvement.

• Ensure adherence to applicable ESG regulations and reporting requirements.

• Discover innovative opportunities to enhance Cohere's impact strategies.

• Work in conjunction with communications and human resources teams to formulate and communicate impact strategies to both internal and external stakeholders.

• Position Cohere at the forefront of responsible AI development.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 15 years of experience in ESG, sustainability, impact management, or leadership in philanthropy.

• More than 3 years in a leadership capacity.

• Demonstrated success in crafting and executing comprehensive ESG strategies within technology or enterprise software industries.

• Experience in establishing and managing philanthropic foundations or corporate giving initiatives.

• Familiarity with employee volunteerism.

• Strong grasp of ESG frameworks, reporting guidelines, and relevant regulations.

• Proficient in measuring and reporting social and environmental impacts using both quantitative and qualitative metrics.

• Exceptional stakeholder management abilities with experience in engaging executives, investors, and community allies.

• Capacity to harmonize strategic insight with operational implementation in a rapidly expanding organization.

• Advanced degree in Business, Sustainability, Social Impact, or a related discipline.

• MBA is preferred.
