Entry Level Technical Field Advisor, Steam Turbine

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide on-site technical guidance to customer-owned utility and industrial power plants regarding steam turbine generator systems.

• Review engineering documents and P&IDs for the plant.

• Troubleshoot issues within plant systems and equipment.

• Plan, organize, integrate, and direct labor, tools, and materials to fulfill contractual work scopes.

• Safely oversee the maintenance and repair of power-generation equipment.

• Manage, execute, coordinate, and/or supervise Steam Power site activities.

• Install systems and equipment at the site.

• Conduct preventive maintenance, repairs, and calibration following installation.

• Address emergency repair and service requests.

• Offer technical instruction and support to customer representatives.

• Compose technical reports, order materials, secure quotations, and prepare job-status reports, customer reports, timesheets, and expense reports.

• Approve implemented changes.

• Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance checks on equipment of varying ages.

• Prepare technical reports for customer records and future outages.

• Ensure that necessary parts are shipped to the site.

• Execute site-level aftermarket upgrades.

• Supervise critical tasks carried out by third parties, including measurement and dimensional checks.

• Actively support the Steam Power vision and the organization's core values.

• Travel primarily within the U.S. and Canada, with potential international travel.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, or a High School Diploma/GED with over 4 years of experience in Field Services or maintenance of power generation equipment.

• Ability and willingness to travel up to 80% of the time.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screening.

• Successful completion of formal, periodic, classroom, and laboratory training as required for employment.

• Experience working on customer sites is preferred.

• Understanding of Steam Turbine Operation and controlling parameters, or Steam Boiler Operational Principles is preferred.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical/mechanical flow and instrument diagrams is preferred.

• Knowledge of dial and laser alignment and thermal growth equipment is preferred.

• Technically inclined, quick learner, and self-motivated is preferred.
