This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Service and repair commercial generators at cell phone towers within the designated region.
• Maintain generators while diagnosing and resolving issues.
• Install and replace components or complete systems as necessary.
• Carry out additional maintenance or upgrades on equipment that is out of season.
• Conduct regular performance checks and maintenance to guarantee generator readiness.
• Interpret and adhere to blueprints or other design specifications for installation and repair tasks.
• Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, along with other components.
• Test installed systems and components to ensure proper functionality.
• Respond swiftly to Power/Generator alarms.
• Execute work safely around hazards related to power supply equipment, switchgear, and other related apparatus.
• Utilize safety equipment and adhere to safety practices.
• Attend and engage in designated safety and training meetings.
• Responsibilities may change or develop in response to business and client requirements.
• At least one year of intensive work-related experience with generator and electrical maintenance-related software, hardware, and processes.
• Preferably, two or more years of experience in generator maintenance.
• Comprehensive understanding of generator installation, maintenance, and repair.
• Knowledgeable in electronic, mechanical, and electrical components.
• Competent computer skills.
• Basic understanding of relevant FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations.
• Capability to adhere to OSHA Standards.
• Ability to lift over 50 pounds, and to stoop, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and stand for extended periods.
• Competence in inspecting and/or troubleshooting equipment/alarms effectively, both visually and audibly.
• Willingness and ability to drive long distances and work during day, evening, or night hours.
• Openness to working overtime, emergency callouts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to take on 24-hour on-call duty when assigned.
• Willingness to be away from home for prolonged periods.
• Must successfully pass a DOT physical.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Must be able to promptly respond to Power/Generator alarms as well as assigned phone and email communications.
