Head of Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Prepare and dispatch a high volume of monthly invoices for over 100 clients with diverse billing arrangements.

• Maintain up-to-date records of client billing terms, rates, and unique circumstances.

• Identify and rectify invoice discrepancies and address billing inquiries.

• Monitor outstanding invoices and liaise with the Client Success team to follow up on late payments.

• Report on amounts billed, received, and overdue.

• Assist in the accurate and timely closing of monthly accounts.

• Categorize transactions and reconcile banking and payment accounts.

• Keep accounting records organized and accurate.

• Collaborate with external accountants or bookkeepers regarding taxes and year-end activities.

• Aid in managing payments to editors, contractors, and vendors.

• Develop and enhance finance processes, checklists, and templates.

• Act as the primary contact for financial inquiries and proactively identify issues.

• Evolve into budgeting, forecasting, pricing, client profitability, and financial planning in collaboration with leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, billing, or finance, preferably supporting a US-based company.

• Practical experience with invoicing and accounts receivable at a significant volume.

• Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero, or similar).

• Strong skills in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets).

• Excellent attention to detail.

• Highly organized, possessing a system for managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Responsive and dependable.

• Clear and professional communication skills in written and spoken English, including the ability to address overdue payments politely yet assertively.

• Availability to work overlapping hours with the US team (Central Time).

• A degree in accounting or finance, or progress toward a CPA is a plus.

• Experience in an agency, staffing firm, or services business with multiple clients on different billing terms is advantageous.

• Familiarity with payment platforms like Stripe, Bill.com, Gusto, or similar for international contractors is a plus.

• Experience in creating financial reports or dashboards, or a willingness to learn forecasting and budgeting is a plus.
