Private Equity Financial Modeler

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Develop financial models from the ground up in Excel tailored to various use cases

• Organize assumptions, drivers, and logic while integrating comprehensive model flows, encompassing cash flow, debt, returns, and scenarios

• Evaluate, troubleshoot, and enhance model precision by pinpointing erroneous assumptions, flawed logic, and potential risks

• Examine interconnections between cash flow, debt, and returns

• Articulate financial logic, decision-making processes, and the rationale behind model functionality

• Convert real-world financial insights into structured outputs

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–10 years of experience in finance roles with significant modeling experience, particularly in Credit, Debt, and Private Equity

• Demonstrated capability to construct complete financial models from a blank spreadsheet in Excel without the aid of templates, tools, or AI

• Practical experience in building comprehensive end-to-end models, such as full LBO models that include sources & uses, debt schedules, and returns/IRR/MOIC

• Experience in developing decision-making models with a robust understanding of their application in real financial situations

• Exceptional attention to detail and model accuracy

• Strong proficiency in English communication skills

• Ability to convey work and financial logic clearly and in detail

• Experience with Asset-Based Lending (ABL) modeling, including borrowing base models, advance rates, eligibility, dilution, and collateral-driven lending is a plus

• Familiarity with Structured Finance / Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) modeling, such as cash flow waterfall models, tranching, credit enhancement, loss assumptions, and prepayment/default scenarios is a plus

• Experience in Risk & Portfolio Modeling, including scenario/stress-testing models, loss modeling for default/recovery/exposure, and portfolio-level analysis is a plus
