This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create and implement a comprehensive national Farm to Family strategy for extensive, farm-direct food rescue initiatives, involving rescues that total millions of pounds.
• Establish scalable systems and guidelines for recognizing, activating, and maintaining farm-level partnerships across various agricultural regions.
• Collaborate with the Chief Program Officer to ensure that Farm to Family initiatives align with the organization's broader objectives and growth strategies.
• Lead the expansion of Farm to Family operations into new geographic areas and agricultural markets.
• Develop and sustain a national network of farms, cooperatives, importers, and agricultural producers who contribute surplus and unsaleable produce directly to Sharing Excess.
• Negotiate and manage agreements for donations, logistics arrangements, and long-term collaborations with growers, packing facilities, and agricultural cooperatives.
• Oversee the complete logistics of large-scale farm-direct rescues, including coordinating transportation, managing cold chains, sorting, and distributing resources to community partners.
• Directly supervise Food Sourcing Managers and Coordinators and support teams that execute farm rescues nationwide.
• Monitor and evaluate program KPIs, including the volume of food rescued, cost-per-pound, partner retention rates, and distribution outreach.
• Develop and manage operational budgets for Direct Link programming, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources for transportation, staffing, and equipment.
• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business, Operations, Nonprofit Management, or a related field; Master's degree is preferred.
• Over 7 years of experience in operational leadership, supply chain management, or managing large-scale programs — experience in agriculture, the food sector, or food rescue is highly desirable.
• Proven experience in managing high-volume, complex logistics operations, including time-sensitive, large-scale events.
• Demonstrated success in building and maintaining partnerships with agricultural producers, cooperatives, or stakeholders in the food industry.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with a background in leveraging data to inform operational decisions.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently to farm sites, partner locations, and regional operations.
