Head of Engineering – Business Continuity

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Lead performance management, recruitment, one-on-ones, and development for your team of 8 engineers. Cultivate a culture focused on quality and operational responsibility.

• Set up framework guidelines, manage delivery, ensure quality, and uphold rigorous engineering standards with the help of modern tools.

• Take ownership of the technical roadmap for the live platform, make informed system design decisions, document Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), and prioritize technical debt effectively.

• Collaborate closely with Commercial leaders and Campaign Management to convert technical realities into business terminology.

• Perform critical code reviews, spearhead incident response efforts, and facilitate the resolution of significant bugs or technical debt triage.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of comprehensive software engineering experience, including 4+ years in engineering leadership, with direct management of frontend and/or backend engineering teams.

• You exhibit unwavering composure and structured thought processes when faced with multiple operational challenges simultaneously.

• You hold yourself and your team to a high technical standard, viewing high platform integrity as an essential requirement.

• You are adept at navigating and steering engineering roadmaps within a growth-oriented environment.

• You possess hands-on experience or significant technical familiarity with TypeScript, PHP, Snowflake, AWS, and GitLab CI/CD.

• You have experience in implementing and utilizing code quality tools such as SonarQube and Cypress, and in documenting decisions through ADRs.

• Ideally, you have domain knowledge in AdTech / MarTech and complex SaaS products.

• You are comfortable working in a remote-first setup.
