Head of Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assemble and lead a team of approximately 4 engineers based in Austin.

• Oversee the offshore security, DevOps, and production support teams.

• Be prepared to engage with the codebase, assist engineers in overcoming obstacles, and contribute to code delivery personally.

• Take responsibility for architectural decisions involving Node.js, React, PostgreSQL, AWS, and open-source CRM solutions.

• Ensure the reliability of high-volume ACH processing, virtual account ledgering, reconciliation accuracy, and compliance with NACHA/SOC 2 standards.

• Develop CI/CD pipelines and establish self-service deployment workflows.

• Implement Test-Driven Development (TDD), peer reviews, and contemporary engineering standards from the outset.

• Set an example with the use of AI coding tools.

• Act as the engineering representative in discussions with customers and sales teams.

• Gain the trust of senior engineers by competently reading, challenging, and reviewing production code.

• Maintain a serious commitment to reliability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of engineering experience.

• 3–5+ years of hands-on leadership experience.

• Extensive experience in ACH processing and fintech platforms.

• Proficient in Node.js, React, PostgreSQL, REST API, and AWS.

• Demonstrated experience in taking products from 0 to 1 in a startup environment.

• Solid understanding of US fintech compliance requirements.

• AI-native — you regularly utilize AI tools in your daily work, not just occasionally.
