Head of Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland.

📋 Description

• Lead and expand the engineering organization with an emphasis on people leadership, organizational structure, and predictable delivery.

• Oversee engineering delivery at an organizational level, which includes capacity planning, prioritization, roadmap feasibility, and managing dependencies across various initiatives and projects.

• Directly manage and nurture engineering leadership (Tech Leads and QA Leads), and adapt the management and ownership model as the organization evolves.

• Collaborate closely with the Head of Technology, Product, and leadership to transform business priorities into clear, achievable engineering plans and trade-offs.

• Establish clear standards alongside teams for architecture, quality, reliability, and security, ensuring that teams can independently execute against them.

• Assume responsibility for overall service reliability by ensuring proper ownership, escalation procedures, and continuous improvement practices are established.

• Lead the hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development processes to promote sustainable team growth.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering.

• 4+ years of experience in engineering leadership positions.

• Strong experience in delivery leadership, planning, and prioritization within SaaS or product-focused settings.

• Solid understanding of software architecture and operating web-based production systems within a Microsoft tech stack (Azure and .NET).

• Experience in leading senior engineers or technical leads and assisting them in advancing into broader leadership roles.

• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Good grasp of security fundamentals and secure software delivery practices.
