Head of DevOps

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a DevOps strategy that aligns infrastructure expansion with 1inch’s business goals.

• Team Development: Guide, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team while cultivating a culture of automation and accountability.

• Infrastructure as Code: Manage multi-cloud Kubernetes clusters and ensure all environmental modifications are handled through automated IaC and GitOps practices.

• Developer Enablement: Standardize deployment workflows and create self-service tools for secrets management and infrastructure provisioning.

• Service Reliability: Establish and apply SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs to guarantee the stability and performance of essential services.

• Observability & Incident Management: Oversee the comprehensive monitoring stack and set up structured incident response and post-mortem procedures.

• Security & Compliance: Uphold "security by design" principles and ensure strict compliance with ISO 27001 and SOC 2 regulatory standards.

• Cost & Efficiency: Drive infrastructure consolidation projects and track cloud spending to uncover strategic opportunities for cost savings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Leadership Experience: Over 8 years in DevOps/Infrastructure, including 3 or more years in a management position.

• Proven Track Record: Demonstrated experience in scaling DevOps teams within dynamic, high-growth technology environments.

• Kubernetes Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of cluster management, networking, and security aspects.

• Automation Mastery: Significant experience with Terraform (IaC) and GitOps methodologies.

• Cloud Architecture: Skilled in managing multi-cloud setups (AWS, Hetzner, GCP).

• Technical Depth: Strong grasp of service mesh and microservices architecture.

• Observability: Extensive experience using observability tools for metrics, logging, and tracing.

• Security Mindset: Practical experience in applying security best practices in CI/CD processes.

• Communication: Capable of conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

• Strategic Mindset: A balanced perspective combining long-term strategic planning with hands-on problem resolution.
