Head of Construction – Photovoltaic Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Are you interested in shaping the future with us? Join our Operations team as the Head of Construction for Photovoltaic Systems and lead the development of a dedicated project team that manages our PV systems from the construction phase to successful commissioning.

• Leveraging your expertise, you will ensure the seamless execution of our projects, timely grid connections, and maximized usage of sustainable energy for our customers.

• Familiarize yourself with our construction and project processes, tools, and standards.

• Gradually take on the leadership role of the construction-phase team while understanding the interactions with both internal and external project stakeholders.

• Lead and nurture a team of six project managers responsible for our photovoltaic project constructions.

• Guarantee the timely and flawless commissioning of our PV systems on commercial and industrial rooftops, as well as ground-mounted locations.

• Assist in the technical planning, installation, and commissioning of PV systems, while being accountable for quality, timelines, and budget.

• Manage and supervise our installation partners, including the final negotiation of project-specific general contractor (GC) contracts.

• Prepare regular updates on project status, risks, and challenges for management and implement necessary actions.

• Ensure adherence to all applicable regulations, standards, and quality requirements.

• Actively participate in optimizing internal processes and the selection of new partner companies and software tools.

• Engage in mentoring and developing junior colleagues in project management.

• Expand the department by establishing scalable processes and structures to support ongoing growth.

• Promote a culture of ownership, quality, and teamwork within your area.

• Implement KPI-driven management to make project quality, efficiency, and profitability clearly measurable.

• Propel continuous improvements in construction execution to enhance the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of our projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in civil engineering, electrical engineering, renewable energies, or an equivalent qualification.

• Several years of professional experience in construction site management and project management within photovoltaics or coordinating similar infrastructure projects.

• Proven track record in people management and effective communication skills to lead interdisciplinary teams and collaborate successfully with partners.

• Demonstrated expertise in creating and strategically developing efficient project management structures.

• Strong understanding of relevant standards, regulations, and occupational safety guidelines in the PV sector.

• A structured, solution-oriented approach to work with a high degree of personal responsibility and assertiveness.

• Willingness to travel to project sites and flexibility in working methods.
