This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
• Overseeing the daily functions of the billing and collections department.
• Ensuring claims and invoices are submitted accurately and on time.
• Managing the revenue cycle processes effectively.
• Leading a team to enhance collections performance.
• Concentrating on minimizing claim denials and managing payments according to payer contracts.
• Optimizing cash collections within a high-volume environment.
• Supervising billing and accounts receivable staff, delegating daily tasks, training new hires, and mentoring team members in billing practices.
• Developing and executing policies, procedures, and best practices to boost billing efficiency and maintain revenue integrity.
• Monitoring accounts receivable aging reports to identify and address delinquent accounts, underpayments, and denials.
• Managing the resolution of rejected claims, submitting appeals for denied claims, and reconciling pharmacy payments.
• Ensuring adherence to HIPAA, state and federal regulations, as well as payer contracts.
• Generating and analyzing financial reports while tracking key performance indicators for pharmacy leadership.
• Acting as a liaison between pharmacy staff, the finance department, and insurance payers concerning billing matters.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in billing, collections, and accounts receivable management.
• Strong comprehension of the revenue cycle from billing to collections.
• Proficiency in various billing software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Proven ability to drive operational excellence and achieve high-quality outcomes.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities, with a capacity to lead effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (preferred).
• At least 3 years of experience in medical/pharmacy billing and team leadership (preferred).
• Familiarity with pharmacy adjudication systems and third-party payer regulations is advantageous (preferred).
