Head of AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• You will lead and establish the AI engineering function at Recare.

• You will define the architecture concerning platforms, applied AI, and agent orchestration.

• You will make strategic technical decisions regarding model selection, infrastructure, and build-vs-buy considerations.

• You will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams.

• You will write code, review pull requests, and deploy systems alongside the team, especially in the initial stages.

• You will establish standards for AI engineering workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• You have experience in software and AI development, with a proven track record in decision-making within production environments.

• You possess extensive hands-on experience in modern LLM engineering, including prompt architecture, context management, agent orchestration, evaluation frameworks, and observability for AI-native applications.

• You understand the rapid advancements in model capabilities and adjust architectural decisions accordingly.

• You are managerial mature and have experience in hiring and growing teams.

• You write code, review pull requests, and deploy systems together with your team, particularly in the early stages.

• You are motivated to build from the ground up and do not expect a fully established organization.
