Head of Accounting Policy – Financial Reporting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and uphold accounting policies in line with US GAAP, while continuously evaluating FASB and SEC updates.

• Supervise the creation and examination of financial statements, ensuring a robust internal control framework for financial reporting.

• Assess and document the accounting implications of intricate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, new product launches, and strategic initiatives.

• Collaborate across departments with Finance, Product, Legal, and external auditors to guarantee accurate and timely reporting results.

• Spearhead modernization initiatives across reporting processes, systems, and controls to enhance scalability and efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 12 years of accounting experience in financial services, fintech, or a rapidly growing technology setting.

• Extensive knowledge of US GAAP, technical accounting research, and financial reporting standards.

• Proven experience in evaluating complex transactions and converting accounting guidance into actionable business decisions.

• Demonstrated ability to establish and enhance internal controls and reporting procedures within a growing organization.

• Strong stakeholder management capabilities, with experience engaging with auditors, regulators, and senior leadership.
