Head of Accounting, Control & Compliance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Accountable for leading the global accounting function while ensuring operational excellence in all essential financial processes.

• Responsible for the entity month-end close cycle, ensuring timely accuracy and completeness of entity accounting and deliverables.

• Oversee, develop, and motivate a team of five finance professionals based globally.

• Collaborate closely with the Finance Operations Manager and the Finance Operations team to ensure high-quality data entry and effectively manage upstream and downstream processes.

• Design, implement, and uphold internal control frameworks, including supporting banking relationships.

• You will also be accountable for statutory and regulatory compliance across all jurisdictions, encompassing payroll, filings, and audits.

• Act as the accounting “super user” for the ERP system, facilitating ongoing optimization while ensuring the Chart of Accounts remains clean, scalable, and aligned with Group Finance.

• Drive continuous improvements across systems and processes to enhance the accuracy, completeness, and speed of accounting and reporting.

• Approve key payments related to AP, payroll, statutory, and tax, while owning relevant accounting policies in collaboration with Group Finance and Finance Operations.

• Undertake additional projects and tasks as needed.


⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in leading accounting functions within a multi-entity, international setting and guiding teams through transformational change.

• Strong technical accounting expertise to ensure the accuracy of local GAAP and IFRS accounting.

• Demonstrated ownership and enhancement of the month-end close and financial reporting processes.

• Profound understanding of internal controls and compliance frameworks.

• Experience with statutory reporting, audits, and regulatory obligations.

• Familiarity with ERP systems and maintaining a scalable Chart of Accounts.

• Proven leadership experience in managing and developing accounting teams.

• Capacity to operate with high levels of ownership and accountability in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to set direction and structure while navigating ambiguous situations.

• Experience in high-growth or scaling organizations.

• Exposure to global finance structures and cross-border operations.

• A record of improving finance processes, controls, and systems.

• Experience collaborating closely with Group Finance / FP&A functions.
