This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive automated invoicing and revenue accounting process in NetSuite, transforming existing manual workflows into an efficient, scalable solution.
• Collaborate with the data warehouse team to align source data, identify inconsistencies, and initiate corrections that guarantee precise data integration into accounting operations.
• Manage the entire invoicing process for all partner agreements—revenue sharing, commissions, and various other frameworks—from initial setup to final collection.
• Analyze and account for intricate deal structures, including tiered revenue sharing, variable commissions, clawbacks, and multi-element arrangements.
• Ensure compliance with ASC 606 for revenue recognition and prepare technical accounting memos as necessary to support these efforts.
• Oversee the accounts receivable subledger, ensure reconciliation with the general ledger, and manage month-end closing for all partner revenue streams.
• Utilize advanced SQL skills to autonomously extract, validate, and reconcile extensive transaction datasets across various systems.
• Review and interpret commercial contracts to identify their accounting effects; collaborate with Business Development and Legal on structuring new deals.
• Act as the primary Finance liaison for external partners regarding dispute resolution, remittance questions, and contract interpretation.
• Supervise collections processes, including aging analysis, escalation procedures, and resolution of overdue accounts.
• Establish internal controls and assist with external audits related to revenue and partner accounting.
• A CPA designation is required.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, specifically in revenue recognition and partner or customer billing.
• Proficient in advanced SQL, capable of independently extracting and reconciling data without assistance from a data team.
• Extensive knowledge of ASC 606 and a proven track record of drafting technical accounting memos.
• Ability to interpret commercial contracts and assess their accounting implications effectively.
• Strong skills in reconciling data across large, multi-source datasets.
• Experience in managing collections and nurturing relationships with external partners.
• Clear and confident communication skills suitable for engaging with senior leadership and external partners.
• Preferred: Experience with NetSuite AR, billing, and automation.
• Preferred: Background in a high-growth technology or marketplace organization.
• Preferred: Experience working collaboratively with data engineering or warehouse teams.
• Preferred: History of working as an individual contributor and independently managing accounting functions.
