Head of Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• **People Leadership:** Directly manage the accounting team with a strong emphasis on professional growth, ongoing performance enhancement, and fostering a trust-based atmosphere.

• **Financial Operations:** Supervise the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings in accordance with HGB and IFRS standards.

• **Tax & Compliance:** Hold complete responsibility for all German tax submissions (including VAT and Corporate Income Tax), ensuring full compliance with local regulations and working closely with local tax advisors.

• **Risk Management:** Develop and continuously improve internal control frameworks to minimize financial risks and protect company assets.

• **Process Automation:** Recognize and execute strategic process enhancements within our ERP systems and the wider accounting technology framework to significantly boost efficiency and streamline administrative tasks.

• **Audit Management:** Oversee the entire annual statutory audit process, acting as the main point of contact for external auditors and tax authorities to proactively address inquiries.

⛳️ Requirements

• **Education:** A university degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a closely related discipline. CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent professional qualification is preferred.

• **Professional Experience:** At least 6+ years of professional accounting experience, including a minimum of 3 years in successfully managing leaders or large teams.

• **Accounting Standards:** Extensive technical knowledge of HGB, complemented by solid professional experience in applying IFRS.

• **Language Skills:** Full professional proficiency in both German and English.

• **Systems & Tools:** Advanced skills in navigating Enterprise ERP systems and collaborative platforms like Google Workspace.
