
Hardware Platform Security Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Co-Architect Secure Silicon: Partner with cross-functional silicon teams (Silicon Design, DV, FW) and silicon collaborators (silicon testing facilities, foundries) to create secure silicon that fulfills the complete system requirements.
• Co-Architect Secure Hardware: Work alongside hardware vendors and cross-functional teams (kernel, compiler, infra) to design secure hardware that satisfies both performance and security criteria.
• Co-Architect Secure Systems: Architect and implement systems utilizing TPM2, Secure Boot, Nitro Enclaves, Intel SGX, AMD-SEV, and other secure hardware technologies.
• Drive Innovation: Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure that hardware innovations are in line with OpenAI’s trusted computing and cryptographic standards.
• Over 10 years of industry experience in hardware security or hardware–software co-design.
• Demonstrated expertise in deploying secure hardware systems at scale and integrating secure hardware components.
• Strong programming skills in Rust and/or C/C++, along with proficiency in Python.
• Proven capability to collaborate across teams, architect solutions, and troubleshoot complex production systems.
• A proactive, ownership-oriented mindset with a focus on comprehensive problem-solving.
• Advanced degree in Computer Architecture, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines (Nice to Have).
• Familiarity with HPC, low-precision computing, and SIMD architectures (Nice to Have).
