Hakha Chin VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls professionally, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry in which you are interpreting, particularly in healthcare and medical fields.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages without any additions, omissions, or substitutions.

• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the interpreting process.

• Enable effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and comprehensive interpretations of the messages.

• Implement standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Communicate and provide updates to your team leader.

• Adhere to dress code standards for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Hakha Chin".

• Over one year of telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company is advantageous, but not essential.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial, but not required.

• Knowledge of legal terminology is a plus.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare sector is advantageous (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• A high school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and an appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
