Haitian Creole VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Dominican Republic.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Have a strong understanding of the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry in which the interpreter operates, particularly in healthcare and medical fields.

• Accurately render all messages in their entirety, ensuring no additions, omissions, or substitutions are made.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service during interpretation sessions.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and complete interpretation of messages.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training programs.

• Show a willingness to pursue new professional certifications.

• Communicate and provide reports to your team leader.

• Follow dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Haitian Creole."

• A minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company.

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is an advantage.

• International certifications in the healthcare field are a plus (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Possess high emotional intelligence and tolerance for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
