Gujarati VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary of the industry you will be interpreting for, particularly in healthcare and medical contexts. Training will be provided.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages without adding, omitting, or altering content.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service throughout the interpreting process.

• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and complete interpretation of messages.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Demonstrate a willingness to pursue new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader.

• Follow dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language 'Gujarati'.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in telephone interpretation at a reputable interpretation company is advantageous but not essential.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus, though not required.

• Awareness of legal terminology is beneficial.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are an advantage (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
