Guidewire Developer, ClaimCenter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +15 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop robust, high-performance solutions across various systems and services.

• Act as a primary technical contributor on significant property and casualty insurance claim projects and initiatives.

• Convey in-depth technical expertise and context to others without formal leadership or managerial responsibilities.

• Assess and promote enhancements in system architecture, technical standards, and development processes.

• Collaborate with engineering and product stakeholders to ensure technical implementation aligns with business requirements.

• Produce proof of concepts to showcase capabilities.

• Uphold standard coding practices and security best practices.

• Operate within the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environment.

• Design and code scalable solutions utilizing Guidewire ClaimCenter and associated middleware technologies such as Java/SpringBoot, AWS SQS/SNS, AWS Lambdas, and AWS PostgreSQL.

• Shape architecture and provide technical direction through technical excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in development.

• At least 2 years in a senior or leadership role.

• Extensive current experience as a Guidewire ClaimCenter developer.

• Proficient in Java, Gosu, Kotlin, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

• Familiar with auto insurance; preference for experience in commercial or personal auto lines.

• Expert-level knowledge of the complete software development lifecycle (SDLC).

• Capability to identify bottlenecks in the software development lifecycle and suggest enhancements.

• Understanding of software design patterns and architectural principles.

• Proficient in design patterns, CI/CD, containerization, orchestration, unit and integration testing, Git, RESTful APIs, microservices, AI Prompt/Agentic Engineering, AppDynamics, Splunk, Spring Boot, EKS/ECS, SQL, secure coding, cloud-native architecture, AWS services, Maven or Gradle, Angular, React, Vue, responsive design, progressive web apps, Webpack/NPM.

• Experience with Guidewire InsuranceSuite, including ClaimCenter, PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, PCF, message queues, business rules, database model, assignment rules, REST APIs, messaging queues, batches, troubleshooting, and Guidewire Profiler.

• Guidewire Cloud InsuranceSuite Professional Developer certification is preferred but not mandatory.

• Ability to work remotely from a home in the US if not located near a Kemper office.
