This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee a team of project quality engineers, which includes setting the direction, planning and allocating workload, and facilitating customer interactions.
• Accountable for centralized quality assurance and control activities for a specific project or set of projects during the Inquiry to Order (ITO) and Order to Remittance (OTR) phases.
• Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the technical discipline.
• Leverage past experience and acquired technical knowledge to implement policy and strategy.
• Utilize judgment and the capability to suggest alternative solutions outside of defined parameters, while still receiving guidance.
• Apply prior experience and on-the-job training to address straightforward tasks.
• Have access to the technical skills and analytical thinking necessary for problem-solving.
• May consult multiple internal resources outside of their own team to make informed decisions.
• Offer guidance to new team members and provide training on project and business-level processes and tools.
• Assist project managers with quality-related issues.
• Ensure coordination among all stakeholders during the ITO and OTR Project Life Cycle Phases.
• Develop and confirm that Project Quality Plan and Inspection & Test Plan requirements are identified and adhered to, including during ITO, OTR, project construction, and at supplier manufacturing sites throughout various stages.
• Monitor Project Key Indicators and establish action plans to maintain progress while addressing any deviations.
• Manage project non-conformities, including coordination with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders, as well as overseeing continuous improvement and Lessons Learned initiatives for both project and functional responsibilities.
• Conduct RCA and non-conformance management, utilizing tools such as 8D, Problem-Solving Reports, DMAIC, 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, and Pareto methods.
• Handle customer complaints until complete resolution.
• Manage customer surveys, including leading and implementing improvement plans.
• Participate in Project Reviews, including Engineering and Procurement gate reviews, as well as discussions on risk mitigation.
• Support auditing and monitoring of subcontractor and supplier activities, manage onsite audits (at project and supplier sites), validate supplier quality plans, and conduct project and process audits.
• Create and deliver quality-related training and tools; become the Subject Matter Expert for designated equipment and quality tools/processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline: Electrical Engineering (preferred), Mechanical Engineering, or Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
• 5-10+ years of experience in quality engineering within high-voltage substations or transmission & distribution projects.
• Experience in EPC or large infrastructure projects within the U.S.
• Strong familiarity with FAT/SAT and field construction quality.
• Knowledge of relevant standards: IEEE, ANSI, NEC, NEMA.
• 5+ years of experience in managing and developing personnel, as well as setting objectives.
• Proficient in tools such as dashboards, NCR/CAPA systems, inspection and test planning, and root cause analysis tools including 8D, DMAIC, fishbone diagrams, and 5 Whys.
• Experience in project management.
• ASQ or PMI certification – PMP, CPSQ, CQE, CMQ/OE.
• Familiarity with blueprints, engineering drawings, schematics, and one-line diagrams.
• Technical and/or equipment experience in areas such as transformers, switchgear, control panels, prefabricated/control buildings, welding, cabling, and fabrication.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Experience with quality tools, both basic and advanced.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
• Proficiency in English is required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive.
