This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee a team of project quality engineers, which includes setting direction, planning and assigning workload, and facilitating customer interactions.
• Accountable for centralized quality assurance and control activities for a specified project or collection of projects during the Inquiry to Order (ITO) and Order to Remittance (OTR) phases.
• Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the technical discipline.
• Leverage prior experience and acquired technical knowledge to implement policies and strategies effectively.
• Mentor new team members and provide training on project and business-level processes and tools.
• Assist project managers with quality-related issues; ensure effective coordination between all stakeholders throughout the ITO and OTR project life cycle phases.
• Develop and ensure compliance with the Project Quality Plan and Inspection & Test Plan requirements.
• Monitor Project Key Indicators, establish action plans to stay on track, and maintain alignment in the event of deviations.
• Manage project non-conformities, which includes coordination with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal partners, alongside driving continuous improvement efforts.
• Participate in Project Reviews, including Engineering and Procurement gate reviews, as well as discussions related to risk mitigation.
• Support the auditing and surveillance of subcontractor and supplier activities, including managing onsite audits.
• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline: Electrical Engineering (preferred), Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
• 5 to 10+ years of experience in quality engineering specifically within high-voltage substations or transmission & distribution projects.
• Background in EPC or large infrastructure projects in the United States.
• Strong familiarity with Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and field construction quality.
• Knowledge of applicable standards such as IEEE, ANSI, NEC, and NEMA.
• At least 5 years of experience in managing and developing personnel, along with setting objectives.
• Proficiency with tools like dashboards, NCR/CAPA systems, inspection and test planning, and root cause analysis tools including 8D, DMAIC, Fishbone, and 5 Whys.
• Experience in project management.
• ASQ or PMI Certification – PMP, CPSQ, CQE, CMQ/OE is preferred.
• Familiarity with blueprints, engineering drawings, schematics, and one-line diagrams.
• Technical and/or equipment experience with items such as transformers, switchgear, control panels, prefabricated/control buildings, welding, cabling, and fabrication.
