You can design and interpret incrementality tests (geo holdouts, lift studies) and understand the nuances between channels driving conversions and those merely claiming credit.
• Strong analytical judgment, capable of transforming complex data into clear decisions and actions — discerning which metrics are significant and which are extraneous.
• Operational understanding of AI, with knowledge of how LLMs and AI agents function — recognizing their strengths and limitations — and the ability to translate marketing workflows into clear specifications for engineers, diagnosing issues when output quality declines.
• Ability to define and measure "good," establishing criteria for evaluating the performance of AI-enabled systems and continuously monitoring them to surface quality issues before they become costly.
• Risk and cost management skills, capable of implementing safeguards around systems that incur real expenses, monitoring for deviations and excessive behaviors, and knowing when to intervene or deactivate an agent.
• Strong communication skills when working with technical partners, effectively discussing what can be automated and what cannot, without being overwhelmed or overcommitting.
• Systems-thinking approach, with the capability to design scalable processes, workflows, and operational models.
• Excellent prioritization skills, with a proven track record of identifying opportunities, prioritizing effectively, and making sound decisions in fast-paced environments.
• Creative testing instincts, demonstrating strong creative thinking to brainstorm, develop, and launch innovative tests.
