• Establish the vision and bring it to fruition.
• Integrate insights from users, competitors, and market trends into product understanding that transcends explicit requests, ensuring this comprehension remains current rather than static.
• Clearly articulate a desired future state to generate momentum, validate the vision, and inspire your team.
• Construct an evidence-based rationale for team priorities, framing it in commercial terms to foster internal alignment and enthusiasm.
• Define the product not only by its capabilities but also by its limitations, maintaining that boundary under pressure with sound reasoning.
• Propel execution and maintain a consistent product rhythm.
• Maintain a transparent update cycle: identify what is on track, what is facing challenges, and what actionable steps are in progress.
• Identify risks and opportunities early, presenting a recommended course of action proactively. Don’t wait for inquiries.
• Own a measurement framework that links product decisions to business outcomes.
• Monitor the movement of leading indicators, maintain an honest assessment of whether initiatives are succeeding, and convey results effectively to various audiences.
• Cultivate team development.
• Directly manage and mentor two PMs, not merely assigning tasks but enhancing their capabilities, exemplifying strong product thinking, and providing constructive feedback.
• Introduce new skills and frameworks that elevate the performance of the entire team.
• Collaborate across the organization.
• Build technical credibility with engineering, engage in discussions regarding tradeoffs based on merits, and resolve cross-team dependencies through relationships rather than escalations.
• Be a trusted resource for customers and executives: simplify complex concepts, communicate a clear narrative, tackle challenging questions, and foster buy-in without exaggeration.
• 8+ years in product management, including a minimum of 2 years of direct management and development of other PMs, preferably in a rapidly expanding B2B SaaS environment.
• Proven ability to navigate ambiguous, high-stakes decisions using a clear framework—considering long-term versus short-term tradeoffs, evaluating second-order effects, and reassessing decisions when new information emerges.
• Strong proficiency in data: defining success metrics, linking them to business outcomes, and maintaining transparency regarding whether the numbers are improving.
• Sufficient technical expertise to gain credibility with engineers and engage meaningfully on architecture and tradeoffs.
• Keen customer and market intuition, along with the communication skills necessary to simplify complex concepts for customers, peers, and executives alike.
• A strong bias for action, tempered with the discernment to decline when necessary and the discipline to follow through on commitments.
• Offers equity.
