This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Formulate and execute a comprehensive strategy for enterprise applications that aligns with our organization’s business goals and objectives.

• Take ownership of, maintain, and raise awareness of the application strategic roadmap.

• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing team of IT professionals.

• Assess employee performance and establish group and individual expectations.

• Promote a culture of innovation, excellence, urgency, and continuous improvement.

• Develop robust working relationships with Laboratory partners to jointly identify strategic needs and influence how applications can create new sources of value.

• Oversee management of our enterprise applications portfolio, ensuring it fulfills current and future business requirements.

• Evaluate and prioritize projects based on strategic alignment, return on investment, and risk factors.

• Identify opportunities for system modernization, integration, and automation.

• Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of our enterprise applications.

• Implement best practices for application lifecycle management, encompassing development, deployment, maintenance, and support.

• Manage master data across various applications.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and partners.

• Acquire a deep understanding of strategic vendors’ roadmaps and how they align with the Lab’s business objectives.

• Collaborate with our internal governance and cybersecurity teams to ensure enterprise applications adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.

• Supervise risk management processes to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with applications and database systems.

• Develop and oversee the budget for enterprise applications, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost-effectiveness.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, ideally in computer science, information systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience on a 2:1 basis).

• Over 10 years of relevant experience.

• Extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of ERP or other business-critical applications.

• At least five years in a leadership capacity, directly managing a team of software development professionals.

• Proficient in utilizing strategic planning to convert business goals into technology solutions.

• Strong project management capabilities.

• Proven track record in vendor and stakeholder management.

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with executives (e.g. frequently interacting with CFO and CIO), stakeholders, and teams across the organization, as well as to influence others to achieve common goals.
