
Grid Automation Key Account Sales Manager – West Region

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee all Grid Automation sales efforts for Protection and Control, Asset Monitoring, and Critical Infrastructure Communications product lines.
• Manage comprehensive account relationships and strategies for designated energy utility and industrial clients.
• Drive growth, profitability, customer expenditure analysis, integrated account planning, opportunity identification, cash flow management, and value communication.
• Formulate and implement commercial strategies for Grid Automation products while leveraging the GE Grid Solutions Portfolio.
• Lead and cultivate commercial and technical support teams to execute account growth strategies and planning.
• Take ownership of forecasting orders, convertible orders, margins, and sales for assigned regional or segment clients.
• Build strategic relationships with key decision-makers within customer organizations.
• Identify, prospect, and generate new sales opportunities.
• Propel growth initiatives and introduce new products within assigned accounts.
• Provide market insights, pricing, and competitive feedback to product-line marketing.
• Assist in expanding the installed base, developing new customer contacts, and documenting gaps in the installed base.
• Manage the travel and living expense budget.
• Identify synergy opportunities with other GE businesses.
• Conduct Operating Plan and Account reviews with regional leadership.
• A BS in Engineering or a BA degree is required.
• An MBA is preferred.
• A minimum of 8 years of direct sales, account, or team leadership experience is required.
• At least 5 years of experience in the electrical or utility sector is necessary.
• Extensive knowledge of electric utilities and vertically integrated oil and gas producers.
• Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
• Professional and technical expertise in automation and power equipment products or services across Transmission, Distribution, or Power Generation.
• Capability to manage executive-level customer relationships and align solutions with strategic goals.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills across executive, engineering, and operations teams.
• Understanding of the economic factors influencing procurement decisions in the energy market.
• Ability to foster strong relationships and work collaboratively to build high-performing teams.
• A proactive, customer-oriented, self-starter mentality with a creative, results-driven approach.
• Ability to excel in growth, transformation, and change-management environments.
• Capacity to effectively contribute within cross-functional teams to drive accountability and outcomes.
• Proficiency in negotiating and closing deals that ensure consistent revenue growth.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
