This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India, +5 more countries.
• Develop and conceptualize innovative designs for both print and digital media, including publications, reports, brochures, infographics, social media content, presentations, websites, e-newsletters, motion graphics, animations, and other communication materials.
• Create social media graphics tailored for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
• Present design proposals for review by UNESCO and craft customized visual solutions that effectively communicate UNESCO's messages and program priorities.
• Ensure that all designs adhere to UNESCO Graphic Standards and Logo Toolkit, promoting gender equality and cultural diversity.
• Utilize interchangeable and transferable fonts available in Adobe Creative Cloud or Google Fonts.
• Secure intellectual property rights for third-party visual assets and ensure compliance with copyright regulations.
• Engage in assignment briefings and collaborate with the UNESCO Communications team.
• Submit initial drafts, integrate feedback from UNESCO, and provide final print-ready and digital files, including editable source files and packaged artwork, within stipulated timelines.
• Offer graphic design services on an on-call basis for publications, campaigns, events, and digital communications.
• Maintain consistent communication with the UNESCO Responsible Officer through email and online meetings.
• A university degree and/or professional training in graphic design, visual communication, digital design, illustration, or related disciplines.
• A minimum of three (3) years of proven professional graphic design experience.
• Experience in designing content for social media and digital communication materials.
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Express, or similar digital-first design tools is advantageous.
• Proven experience in designing for social media platforms, including knowledge of platform-specific dimensions, formats, and visual best practices.
• A strong grasp of typography, color theory, composition, and visual hierarchy.
• Experience with motion graphics or animation tools, such as Adobe After Effects or equivalent, is a plus.
• Ability to adhere to brand guidelines and institutional style standards.
• Competence in managing artwork files and coordinating with printers as necessary.
• Capability to work independently and efficiently under tight deadlines and revision cycles.
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is essential.
• A portfolio showcasing at least three (3) recent work samples along with brief project descriptions.
• Candidates must reside in South Asia and specify their country of residence/base and the regions/countries they are available to work in.
• Agencies are required to submit CVs for at least two (2) key personnel proposed for UNESCO assignments.
• Standard service rates must be quoted in the local currency.
• On-call project assignments with no guarantee of work.
