This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Assist in the creation and submission of grant proposals to philanthropic organizations.
β’ Develop a funding pipeline for DataKind's initiatives within US Communities.
β’ Identify and suggest new philanthropic funding opportunities that align with DataKind's mission, programs, and strategic goals.
β’ Distill intricate programmatic and technical information into clear and engaging narratives.
β’ Compose, revise, and finalize grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supplementary materials.
β’ Work with internal stakeholders to collect accurate program, budget, and impact data required for submissions.
β’ Oversee proposal timelines, ensuring that submissions are completed accurately and punctually.
β’ At least 5 years of experience in grant writing, ideally in the nonprofit, social impact, or technology fields.
β’ Proven success in obtaining significant grants from philanthropic sources, including multi-year commitments and awards of $500,000 or more.
β’ Exceptional research, writing, and editing abilities, particularly in technical writing, with a strong capability to convey complex AI, data science, or civic tech concepts in an accessible and persuasive manner for both technical and non-technical funders.
β’ Established history of securing grants from philanthropic sources, including competitive RFPs.
