This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee subaward agreements in accordance with 2 CFR 200 Uniform Guidance and the organization's policies.
• Perform risk assessments, including financial risk evaluations, due diligence, and verification of necessary documentation.
• Assist in the development and review of compliant budgets, scopes of work, and subaward modification packets.
• Coordinate workflow with the Forestry Program Director, Finance, and Compliance Support Specialist to ensure timely award execution and efficient administrative processes.
• Manage a portfolio of grantees and act as the primary point of contact for programmatic, reporting, and basic compliance questions.
• Offer capacity-building technical assistance, especially for community-based and faith-based organizations that are new to federal funding and cost-reimbursement processes.
• Monitor project activities, milestones, and deliverables to ensure they align with approved scopes of work.
• Conduct initial evaluations of progress reports, reimbursement requests, and financial documents before they are submitted for compliance and finance review.
• Ensure that grantees adhere to subaward requirements and fulfill all reporting deadlines.
• Collaborate with the Compliance Support Specialist by identifying potential compliance concerns and implementing suggested corrective or risk-mitigation strategies.
• Draft corrective action recommendations for Director approval when issues with grantee performance arise.
• Track the progress of project implementation, deliverables, and expenditures, ensuring accurate and current documentation for audit preparedness.
• Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with grantees, partner organizations, and community coalitions.
• Work closely with the Forestry Program Director to support strategic program objectives and ensure strong performance from grantees across the portfolio.
• Collaborate across the organization—including finance, compliance, operations, and communications—to foster program success and consistent messaging.
• Assist in the planning and coordination of grantee meetings, webinars, training sessions, and site visits.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., nonprofit management, business, public administration, finance), or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in grant portfolio management, subaward monitoring, or federal grant administration.
• Proven experience with 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance) and cost-reimbursement grant processes.
• Experience working with organizations that are new to federal grants and providing technical assistance to high-risk grantees.
• Demonstrated ability to build capacity and support grantees with varied levels of organizational capability.
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, and project management skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication abilities, including the capacity to translate compliance requirements into accessible guidance.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple deadlines, and solve problems in a dynamic environment.
• Familiarity with Salesforce or similar grant management databases is preferred.
• Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
