Global Solution Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead discovery sessions with prospects and clients to ascertain priorities, service needs, operating models, technology landscapes, data, constraints, and desired outcomes.

• Convert intricate service supply chain requirements into comprehensive solution designs encompassing inventory positioning, warehousing, fulfillment, transportation, returns, service levels, technology, data, and integrations.

• Evaluate operational, inventory, order, SLA, geographic, and cost data to uncover patterns, validate assumptions, quantify requirements, and assess solution alternatives.

• Create scalable solutions utilizing standard service, operational, and technological capabilities while identifying the rationale for customization, trade-offs, and implications.

• Formulate analytical and operational justifications for proposed solutions, including customer results, service enhancements, economic value, assumptions, risks, and trade-offs.

• Collaborate with Pricing and Operations to confirm solution economics, operational assumptions, resource requirements, network design, and implementation feasibility.

• Provide solution expertise during sales efforts, customer presentations, workshops, demonstrations, RFP/RFQ submissions, and executive discussions.

• Take ownership of solution strategy and technical content for RFP/RFQ submissions.

• Direct the development of Statements of Work in collaboration with Sales, Operations, Implementation, Pricing, and other stakeholders.

• Specify implementation requirements, dependencies, timelines, data needs, technology specifications, and change-management considerations.

• Ensure solution design integrity from discovery through the implementation handoff and address design queries during implementation.

• Facilitate knowledge transfer among Sales, clients, Implementation, Operations, Technology, and other stakeholders.

• Maintain expert-level knowledge of the service portfolio, global operational capabilities, processes, network, and supporting technology.

• Utilize analytical, automation, and AI-enabled tools to expedite analysis and enhance solution quality.

• Identify opportunities for new or improved services, capabilities, technology, or product offerings.

• Mentor Sales and internal stakeholders on capabilities, solution design principles, and operational and technical aspects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, solution design, consulting, pre-sales, or a related field.

• Proven responsibility for complex or strategic customer solutions.

• Strong comprehension of service parts logistics, warehousing and fulfillment, inventory, transportation, reverse logistics, and service-level-driven supply chain operations.

• Experience in designing intricate solutions that span multiple geographies, operational entities, service providers, systems, or business functions.

• Direct experience working with customers in discovery, consulting, solution design, or pre-sales contexts.

• Demonstrated ability to develop and present complex proposals and recommendations to both operational and executive audiences.

• Familiarity with global geography, international logistics, and trade factors.

• Experience with technology-enabled logistics solutions, systems integrations, analytics, or software demonstrations is highly preferred.

• Willingness to travel as business needs dictate.
