This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Indonesia.
• Directly manage the People Officer, facilitating their professional development, workload management, and goal setting.
• Provide coaching and support to the People Officer on HR cases, employee relations, and systems.
• Guarantee that the People team delivers high-quality support to staff globally.
• Supervise the employee lifecycle processes, which include recruitment, onboarding, performance management, learning and development, and offboarding.
• Lead the implementation of digital and AI-enabled tools to enhance, automate, and optimize HR processes, data management, and reporting.
• Take responsibility for employee relations outcomes and offer guidance to managers on disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence, wellbeing, and policy issues.
• Make informed decisions on complex and sensitive cases while keeping senior leadership updated on critical matters.
• Develop systems, tools, and guidance that assist managers in managing people-related issues consistently.
• Keep abreast of HR and employment law changes, particularly in Asia, and recommend necessary actions.
• Own Ember’s HR policy framework and ensure compliance with legal standards across various regions.
• Oversee the Employer of Record providers and HR/benefits partners.
• Ensure HR data and records are precise, secure, and adhere to data protection regulations.
• Integrate Ember’s values within remote and cross-cultural teams.
• Spearhead initiatives for employee engagement, wellbeing, retention, learning and development, career pathways, and succession planning.
• Foster positive, inclusive, equitable, and diverse team cultures.
• Analyze HR data and feedback to enhance the employee experience.
• Collaborate with the Operations Manager and COO to set People priorities.
• Assist in organizational design and workforce planning.
• Provide HR metrics and analysis to senior management, covering turnover, engagement, absence, and diversity.
• A recognized mid-level HR qualification or equivalent professional experience, such as CIPD Level 5, SHRM-CP, PHR, IHRP-CP, CPHR, HKIHRM membership, or a relevant HR degree.
• Proven track record of operating at a senior, strategic HR level, influencing people strategy and policy.
• Extensive applied knowledge of employment law and HR practices across Asian jurisdictions.
• Experience as the senior or sole HR practitioner in an organization, region, or business unit.
• Proficiency in using AI-enabled digital tools to enhance, automate, or streamline HR processes, with insights into potential opportunities and risks.
• Experience managing complex employee relations cases from start to finish, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, and performance issues.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
• Proven ability to line manage and develop HR professionals.
• Capability to analyze HR metrics, identify trends, and provide recommendations.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing abilities.
• High emotional intelligence, resilience, confidentiality, and integrity in handling sensitive matters.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Advanced or postgraduate HR qualification or chartered HR membership preferred.
• Experience in a remote-first, international, or non-profit organization preferred.
• Familiarity with payroll, benefits, and employment practices across multiple jurisdictions preferred.
• Experience leading L&D strategy or career development frameworks preferred.
• Working knowledge of HRIS and data-driven HR practices preferred.
• Experience using or implementing AI-driven or digital HR systems preferred.
• Salary: £41,576 - £49,892 per year, depending on experience and local cost-of-living.
• Full-time staff enjoy a nine-day fortnight, with every other Friday off, without any pay reduction.
• 25 days of holiday, plus UK bank holidays unless local statutory minimums are higher.
