This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
β’ Design and implement activities that address the priority learning questions of Street Business School.
β’ Take the lead in developing the agenda for measuring impact at SBS.
β’ Expand the scope of impact measurement beyond just income and business ownership.
β’ Produce insights and evidence that encourage investment in micro-entrepreneurship.
β’ Assist SBS in creating knowledge and materials to demonstrate how our programs are functioning on the ground.
β’ Ensure decisions are made based on data analysis.
β’ Spearhead the design and support the execution of a comprehensive monitoring, evaluation, and learning plan for SBS.
β’ Create a unified framework for indicators, data collection, and reporting across all programs and partners.
β’ Oversee evaluation studies; manage timelines and budgets associated with these studies.
β’ Develop and enforce protocols for data quality and database management, including standardized reports and dashboards.
β’ Provide exceptional technical support to country and program teams regarding evaluation methodologies and MEL frameworks that comply with donor requirements.
β’ Collaborate with internal teams on designing MEL frameworks, theories of change, and evaluation methodologies.
β’ Produce high-quality MEL plans and reports for donor-funded initiatives.
β’ Synthesize findings and recommendations from various evaluations and research/learning activities to guide SBS programming and strategic decisions.
β’ Work together on the creation and timely delivery of various learning products.
β’ More than 8 years of demonstrated success in data monitoring, reporting, oversight, research, and effective data presentation in international development settings, preferably related to entrepreneurship.
β’ High proficiency in Excel, Stata, SAS, or relational databases. Familiarity with Power BI, Taroworks, and Salesforce is an advantage.
β’ Proven experience in data cleaning, manipulation, and analysis.
β’ Acknowledgment that 70% of data work involves preparation while 30% focuses on design, analytics, and visualization.
β’ Strong technical capabilities in developing, refining, and troubleshooting data collection, database management, quality control, and using common reporting tools.
β’ High ethical standards and integrity in managing monitoring and evaluation processes, ensuring robust methodologies that are appropriate, credible, reproducible, and transparent.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the capacity to convey information clearly and succinctly, as well as to process and assimilate information for diverse audiences.
β’ An advanced degree in a relevant field, such as Development, Economics, or Statistics.
β’ Proficiency in project management techniques to effectively coordinate and oversee processes, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management.
β’ Proven capability to work independently with a high degree of personal effectiveness.
β’ Experience in team management to guide, mentor, and oversee members of the MEL team as they are recruited.
β’ Commitment to continuous personal learning and improvement in monitoring, evaluation, and learning, keeping abreast of industry developments and emerging trends.
