Global Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Spearhead and enhance the accounting organization to ensure its capability to support a more extensive and intricate global business while upholding precision, robust controls, and consistent execution.

• Manage all facets of the accounting function, such as: monthly closings and financial reporting, global consolidations and multi-entity accounting, internal controls, compliance, external audits, tax operations and relationships with external advisors, billing, collections, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and related financial operations.

• You will be responsible for providing timely and precise financial reporting while continually enhancing the efficiency and predictability of the accounting organization.

• Uphold the controls, documentation, and processes that prepare the organization for financing, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions as the business expands.

• You comprehend the operational and accounting intricacies of recurring revenue, payment settlements, reconciliation, money movement, processing fees, reserves, and financial controls. While you may not be required to perform the technical accounting tasks yourself, you will lead teams with the necessary expertise to execute at a high level as payment volumes and business complexities increase.

• Continue to enhance the accounting operating model by developing scalable processes, clear ownership, meaningful metrics, and strong cross-functional collaborations.

• Collaborate closely with RevOps, Finance Systems, FP&A, and Strategic Finance to ensure the accounting team delivers timely and reliable financial information that supports business decisions.

• Partner with the Finance Systems team to optimize workflows, automation, data quality, and AI-enabled processes that minimize manual effort, strengthen controls, and enhance visibility throughout the organization.

• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing accounting team.

• You will set clear priorities, establish effective operating rhythms, enhance accountability, and ensure the team possesses the structure and capabilities necessary to support ongoing company growth.

⛳️ Requirements

• CPA certification is required.

• Over 7 years of experience in leading and scaling a controllership or accounting organization within a rapidly growing technology company.

• Experience in supporting businesses with diverse revenue streams, including both SaaS and payments.

• Proven success in leading accounting teams across financial reporting, closing, audits, controls, tax, payroll, billing, collections, and finance operations.

• Experience in multi-entity and multi-currency operational environments.

• Demonstrated ability to enhance the scalability, efficiency, and predictability of accounting operations while preserving robust financial controls.

• Strong executive communication abilities with the judgment and confidence to act as a trusted partner to the CFO.

• Experience in developing leaders, building high-performing teams, and fostering accountability within the accounting organization.

• Comfortable utilizing systems, automation, data, and AI to enhance accounting operations.
