This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and implement global strategies for commodities related to custom fabricated components.
• Identify, assess, qualify, and nurture suppliers capable of meeting complex manufacturing demands.
• Lead initiatives for supplier consolidation, dual-sourcing, and enhancing supply chain resilience.
• Oversee RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs while performing supplier evaluations and competitive analyses.
• Conduct total cost of ownership (TCO) assessments, should-cost modeling, benchmarking, and market research.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, lead times, payment conditions, inventory programs, and commercial agreements.
• Achieve annual cost savings and implement productivity enhancement initiatives.
• Establish and sustain strategic relationships with suppliers.
• Track supplier performance concerning quality, delivery, responsiveness, capacity, and cost.
• Carry out supplier reviews, capability assessments, audits, and site inspections.
• Promote supplier accountability and drive continuous improvement efforts.
• Serve as the subject matter expert in custom fabrication technologies and manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with Engineering teams on design for manufacturability (DFM) initiatives, material choices, and manufacturability enhancements.
• Assist with prototype production, new product introduction (NPI) activities, and production scaling.
• Work together with Quality teams to resolve supplier performance challenges and implement corrective actions.
• Partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Program Management, Finance, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
• Present sourcing strategies, supplier recommendations, cost reduction plans, and risk management strategies to leadership.
• Facilitate enterprise-wide supplier standardization and best practices in procurement.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
• Over 7 years of experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, procurement, supplier development, or supply chain management.
• Extensive experience in sourcing custom fabricated components and related manufacturing commodities.
• Proven track record in leading supplier negotiations, RFQ/RFP processes, and forming commercial agreements.
• Strong analytical capabilities, including cost modeling, market analysis, and TCO assessments.
• Familiarity with fabrication technologies, manufacturing processes, materials, and supplier capabilities.
• Experience in collaborating with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain departments.
• Proficient with ERP systems, Excel, and supply chain analytics tools.
• Background in Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS), aerospace, defense, medical devices, industrial manufacturing, or other high-reliability sectors (preferred).
• Experience in supporting Build-to-Print (BTP) manufacturing settings (preferred).
• Understanding of supplier qualification processes and quality systems (preferred).
• Experience managing suppliers across the U.S., Mexico, and Asia (preferred).
