GL Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Accountable for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's general ledger while facilitating timely and compliant financial and tax reporting.

• Responsible for journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.

• Plays a crucial role in the month-end and year-end closing processes.

• Prepare and record both standard and adjusting journal entries.

• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.

• Maintain precise balances across general ledger accounts.

• Guarantee prompt resolution of reconciling items.

• Conduct balance sheet account reconciliations.

• Oversee intercompany invoice posting, variance analysis, and reconciliation of all intercompany balances.

• Provide support for VAT returns.

• Ensure adherence to accounting policies and internal controls.

• Assist with audits and statutory reporting requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in general ledger or core accounting.

• Preferred experience in a multinational or manufacturing setting.

• Previous experience with an audit advisory firm is advantageous.

• Familiarity with SAP or comparable ERP systems.

• Knowledge of IFRS standards.

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel (including reconciliations, pivot tables, and analysis).
