This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of GIS data models that support electric utility distribution systems.
• Focus on network connectivity, asset modeling, and topology configurations.
• Have experience facilitating migrations from geometric network or legacy GIS models to Utility Network.
• Ensure GIS data aligns with OMS requirements, including network tracing, switching, and outage prediction.
• Uphold data quality, validation rules, and topology integrity.
• Evaluate GIS model readiness for downstream operational systems like OMS and ADMS.
• Establish modeling standards and best practices to enable scalable integration.
• Design and provide guidance on integrations between GIS and OMS platforms.
• Ensure accurate representation of network models for outage analysis and restoration operations.
• Assist with data synchronization, mapping, and transformation processes across systems.
• Develop and manage interface specifications, data flows, and integration processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration and data consistency challenges.
• Support model alignment between GIS connectivity and OMS network models.
• Identify integration risks and data gaps early in project lifecycles, recommending mitigation strategies.
• Configure and provide support for Esri ArcGIS Enterprise, Utility Network services, and related components.
• Collaborate with OMS vendors and internal teams regarding data requirements and model alignment.
• Assist with testing activities, including system integration testing and user acceptance testing.
• Monitor system performance and suggest enhancements.
• Work alongside utility engineering, operations, outage management, and IT teams to gather requirements.
• Translate business and operational needs into GIS and OMS model designs.
• Provide technical documentation and model standards.
• Support production deployments and operational support activities.
• Assist in presales, discovery, and early-stage solution efforts by communicating GIS and integration dependencies to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Convey complex technical topics to project managers, directors, and executive audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Engineering, Computer Science, Geography, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Over 5 years of GIS experience within utility environments.
• Practical experience with Esri ArcGIS Enterprise and Utility Network configuration.
• Familiarity with ArcFM for electric utility GIS solutions.
• Experience in modeling electric utility distribution networks.
• Knowledge of integrating GIS with OMS or other operational systems.
• Strong grasp of electric distribution network connectivity, network topology and tracing concepts, data modeling, and system integration principles.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, or scripting for data management and automation.
• Experience with web services, APIs, and data exchange methods.
• In-depth knowledge of Esri Utility Network architecture and configuration, utility electric network modeling, GIS data governance, data quality management, systems integration, and interface design.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to collaborate across functions.
• Skills in technical documentation and communication.
• Capacity to operate effectively in a matrixed consulting environment.
• Capability to balance delivery execution with advisory and presales support.
